Welcome, San!

Playtime insideJeni and I arrived at Cheryl's place past eleven. Sandy was already there with Baby Eli. It was nice to see her back again. It's actually her first time to meet Jeni who happens to hail from the same place she came from. And with Jeni's son, Conner, Eli has now someone his age to play with.

Today is supposed to be our welcome party for Sandy. I had cooked escabeche as well as ampalaya omelet earlier in the morning. I also brought chicken nuggets for the kids. The day was supposed to be cloudy if not rainy, but it turned out alright.

We spent about two hours out in the sun before the wind got too cold for us to stay there. The kids had a great time playing in the yard. A couple times, I had to holler at Sweetpea to stay away from the pond. But before everyone finished eating their dessert, Nico had sprayed water on Sweetpea and Zack with the garden hose. Good thing I had brought extra clothes.

There was an abundance of food for everyone --- humba, sotanghon, pinakbet, monggos, bulad, biko, and a variety of chinese food. We all felt stuffed afterwards and decided to spend the rest of the time inside the house. The kids continued their playtime as the adults exchanged stories and sang along with karaoke music.
