I was supposed to meet Ivy and her two daughters today, but she didn't show up at the playdate because of the bad weather. Snow fell thick and hard last night and it's been raining all day today. But Sandy volunteered to pick us up and we managed to show up at Cheryl's place without Ivy.
I was glad to meet all the moms and Sweetpea was happy playing with other kids. At the start, she was mostly observing them. There were three boys --- Zack, Vin and Nicko and a seven year old girl, Judy, who arrived later after lunch with her mom. But before Judy came, I had rescued Sweetpea three times when Zack tried to put her inside the closet. When she was around, she and Sweetpea were inseparable.
On the other hand, I enjoyed getting to know my new girl friends. They were all very friendly and fun to be with. Vivian didn't feel well, but she had to come because the group had already prepared a surprise birthday party for her. I was touched by the thoughtfulness showed by Cheryl, Sandy and Blessy. Above all, I was thankful for the warm welcome they have extended to me and my little girl.
